Hazel Betteney

Graduated from University of Bath in 1999 with BPharm(first class hons), I have worked in the NHS for 20 years, working initially in district general hospitals as a pre-registration pharmacist, resident pharmacist and specialist admissions pharmacist(4 years), then primary care as a GP pharmacist for 5 years and commissioning pharmacist for 3 years (8 years) and most recently as lead pharmacist for clinical services in mental health (8 years).

I completed a clinical pharmacy diploma with Queens university, Belfast in 2002; qualified as a supplementary and independent prescriber in 2007 and achieved a masters in prescribing science in 2008.

My main historic areas of clinical specialty lie in physical health, in particular respiratory disease, anticoagulation, cardiovascular disease and contraception. I have completed a number of stand alone clinical qualifications including diploma modules in Asthma, COPD, cardiovascular practice in primary care and anticoagulation. Within mental health I specialise in adult mental health and learning disabilities. In addition to this in 2014 I was awarded a post graduate diploma in research methods from Sunderland university.
